I’ve known Ernest only just recently. Yes, that Ernest.
From first meeting him offline in some events, I asked him to participate in leading the auction at the Lagu Baru Exhibition a while ago. There I met his beautiful wife Meira and their cute button daughter Sky.
From there on we got closer and lastly we work on this beautiful 2013 for-charity calender together.
I admire the guy. I know that in the stand-up comedy community in Indonesia he’s regarded as one of the pioneers and also one of the best comics around. Watch one of his gigs and you can see why.
It was a pleasure shooting them. We took our time and they completely let me do whatever I think it’s best. I know it’s not easy for Ernest to let go of control since he’s been in and out of the creative world.
But hey, fortunately the pictures don’t suck :) In fact, one of my best work, methinks.
Love the ‘bacang’ portrait series, as Ernest and his Chinese blood is one of the main traits that defines him as a comedian.
And as a bonus for his fans, the last frame is capturing Ernest like never seen before.
