Heard it for the first time during Sidney Mohede’s live recording last week, the reff is now stuck in my head. It’s beautiful.
“When there’s desire, there’s got to be a flame.
And when there’s a flame, someone’s bound to get burned.
But just because it burns doesn’t mean you’re gonna die.
You gotta get up and try, try, try.”
For me, those lyrics is translated into this:
“If you want to love someone, if you want to trust people, there will always be risk.
And when there’s risk, someone is probably gonna get dissapointed and hurt.
But the most important thing from all this is the fact that even if you got hurt real bad: you are not going to die. You’re still here.
Do not be bitter and give up, you just have to get back on your feet, try to trust people for another day.”
If you want to try to trust someone, remember this: you will get hurt.
Trusting someone is like opening up your tough shell and being out in the open, weak and vulnerable.
That’s why the people that are going to hurt you the most are the ones you trust the most.
So what do we do when we get hurt? Hurt real bad?
A lot of people then stop trying to love people and stop trying to trust people. They do not go anywhere and just be bitter in their little caves, talking and seeking agreement with other bitter people.
I propose another route.
Tell yourself, “Hey Edward, okay you’re hurt. It stings, I know. But you’re still breathing. You’re still here. You’re not dead. And this is just life. Toughen up, get back on your feet, and just try again, and again, and again.”
And in the moments of trying and trying and trying, I am sure and I have proven, that between dissapointments and hurting hearts, you will meet the lovers of your lives.
I have been hurt a thousand times but I have been also loved a hundred times. And those hundred are damn well worth the pain.
A tip: Forget and downsize your dissapointments and just move on. Make them ‘meh…’ moments. But celebrate and blow-up your lovers and linger long in your victories.

Keep loving and trusting and you will always meet new people and see the million stories of the world.
Be bitter and you will always be in your dark room with the same bitter people and see the same dark view from your window.
Your choice, because nobody can make that choice for you.
I choose to try, try, try.
I wrote this post for my friend in this picture. Try and try and try.
