This is one of my work here in Ambon. On my trips, on the coffee shops or in the dive sites, I take portraits of the amazing people that I encounter.
I so love portraits. Maybe I am an portraitist at heart.
In a world of instant and gimmicks, a person that just sits there, breathe in, and have the camera capture the inside of his eyes, I think, is not a coveted art for many. Me? I love it dearly.
The pictures get even more powerful when you have heard their stories. What’s their passion, their journeys, their dissapointments.
We don’t retouch these. Scratches and blemishes are there to tell a story. To put character. Marks of a life.
This project has been a dream coming true. I will continue to make these as long as I can hold a camera.
See the complete ongoing project (I will add new faces everyday) on edwardsuhadi.me – and find out about the story behind each faces.
